This article provides a summary of key data from the EFC Research Task Force survey conducted in 2003/04 on the dimensions of the foundation sector in the European Union. The data encompasses a large variety of fields such as the different types of foundations, the number of foundations in Europe, their fields of activity, their expenditure and assets.
